Battlezone 2 was announced last year to receive a remaster for PC and for those who didn’t like the VR Battlezone, this might be better. Published by Rebellion and developed by Big Boat Interactive, Battlezone Combat Commander is a real-time strategy/first person shooter hybrid with numerous different worlds and 24 missions to complete. The twist is that along with commanding units, you can hop into one and fight from first person.
The remaster will be releasing on March 1st for Steam and GOG and offers more than 30 different unit types to manage. Much like its predecessor, you can expect improved graphics with shader based rendering and retextured terrain. Along with single-player, there’s also a multiplayer mode with support for Deathmatch.
Players can also co-op together in MPI, managing their offenses and defenses. If that weren’t enough, mods for single-player and multiplayer are also supported. Time will tell if this remaster is a big step up, especially considering how average Battlezone VR was. What are your thoughts on the game though? Let us know in the comments.
