Bear Simulator Reaches Kickstarter Funding Goal in First Week

The mini-Skyrim with a bear has crossed $40,000 in funding.

Another Kickstarter project has managed to attain its funding goals within a relatively short period of time. Farjay Studios’ Bear Simulator has managed to raise more than $40,000 within its first week. That’s well beyond the original $29,000 goal and the project still has three weeks of funding remaining. Expect stretch goals to be revealed in the coming weeks as funding increases.

As of now, 1,536 backers have pledged $42,132 to Bear Simulator. What could possibly be the reason? Perhaps the outright rebellion to current open world game standards. As the developer states on its Kickstarter page, “It’s quite clear the fat cats in Washington with their stove top hats and contemporary jazz music don’t want us playing as bears, it’s about time to fight back against the tyranny.

“TL;DR – It’s like a mini Skyrim but you’re a bear.”

We can dig it.

Bear Simulator is scheduled to release in November-ish 2014. Stay tuned for more details.
