Josh Olin of Treyarch told CVG that 3D for Call of Duty: Black Ops wasn’t a “big focus” for the studio, but he did not give a definitive answer.
“We’ve looked at it,” Olin said. “I think that games are going to work if you have your 3D goggles and 3DTV.
“We haven’t engineered any gameplay specifically to 3D – that technology was kind of new during development so that’s not a big focus for Black Ops. But it is definitely popular, especially the depth 3D offers right now. That is what people seem to be liking right now, the depth through your monitor rather than things popping out at you.”
Who knows, perhaps we might be getting 3D DLC.
Black Ops will be out this November on… on every single system you can come to think of. Except the PSP, of course. Oh, and check out our Call of Duty: Black Ops preview.
