Bloober Team Has 7 Games in Active Development

Two "core productions" from its "first-party" teams are in the works alongside five titles co-developed under Black Mirror Games.

With Project M, Silent Hill Remake, and Layers of Fear 3, it makes sense that Bloober Team would upgrade its overall leadership. The developer has announced (via GamesIndustry) that Thaine Lyman, who worked as a senior leader at Activision and Wargaming, will be the new studio head, in charge of “production pipeline and development teams.

Michał Gembicki, who worked at CD Projekt, is now head of publishing and handling publishing strategy and global distribution. Finally, Katya Baukov is director of business development, focusing on expansion, franchise growth and partnerships (having worked at CD Projekt and Techland).

There are seven titles currently in development, with five being co-developed by Bloober under the Black Mirror Games label. CEO Piotr Babieno will continue working with the other two “first-party” teams. However, he emphasized that this strategy is to ensure that the company has at least two productions in the works since “relying on a single title creates too much risk in today’s market.”

“But we also don’t want more, because quality, focus, and creative oversight would inevitably suffer. For us, two core productions are the right balance between ambition and responsibility.”

Layers of Fear 3 is one of the co-developed titles, though Babieno notes that, “We’re not interested in growth for the sake of numbers. We believe players don’t need a constant flood of releases. They want experiences that feel meaningful, distinctive, and worth remembering years later.” Speaking of “growth for the sake of numbers,” he also emphasized the studio’s goal to retain talent, and not grow “recklessly” only to then “solve problems through layoffs.”

“We’re mindful about how we grow. We’re not trying to scale as fast as possible. Our focus is sustainable development, financial discipline, and long-term stability. That stability matters. Many team members have been with us for years. Long-term collaboration creates trust, shared creative instincts, and a stronger foundation than rapid expansion could.

“I never want to build a company that grows recklessly and then solves problems through layoffs. We want to come out stronger from industry challenges – together.”

As of now, each of its projects has a way to go. Project M, which is launching exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, has yet to be revealed. Silent Hill Remake and Layers of Fear 3 don’t have release dates either, and Project H, developed by the team behind Cronos: The New Dawn, is in pre-production.
