A while ago, a Bloodborne patch removed the level restriction for co-op play with friends, meaning that one would be able to help their friends get through the game even if they didn’t fall in the same level range. In theory, this is a great idea. Unfortunately, it also meant that players who sometimes comically outleveled the host players would be able to help the host get through some of the earlier, less difficult sections of the game, trivializing its challenge entirely.
That all changes with Bloodborne’s patch 1.05, which will be making one very important fix- the guest’s stats will now be adjusted to reflect the host’s stats in a co-op game with friends, if the level disparity is too large. The full changelog for this patch is:
- If a player uses the Beckoning Bell or Small Resonant Bell while using a password, it will be clearly indicated that a password is in use.
- If the level difference between the host and the guest when matched using a password is large, the guest’s stats will be adjusted to match the host’s.
- Other bug fixes and matching improvements.
Patch 1.05 should be available some time next week, so if you want to abuse the co-op system and get through the game, now might really be the best time to do it- after this, it will come down to just your skill alone, which pretty much means you will be doomed.
