Bloomberg: Microsoft planning to release Xbox 720 next year

Not really shocking.

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 successor could be released during holiday season next year, and while that is a logical thing, it’s nice to have a reputed site run a story on it.

Bloomberg is reporting that according to Microsoft’s plans, they are planning to release it next year, during Thanksgiving and also want to take advantage of Christmas sales.

The people who revealed this couldn’t be identified because everything is confidential and locked down, however, Microsoft really wouldn’t want to give Nintendo a two year lead to the Wii U.

They sold 750k hardware during Black Friday week this year, and while that can make you think they would release Xbox 720 late, it’s happening either way because the entire sales are down for the year.

It is being said that Microsoft doesn’t know or isn’t sure where to reveal the next Xbox. They revealed the Xbox 360 during MTV awards in 2005 and they could do something similar with its successor.

Maybe the VGAs will have a surprise or a small tease?
