Bravely Default 2’s First Review Has Dropped

Japanese magazine Famitsu awards it a score of 36/40.

Bravely Default 2 is coming out soon, bringing more classic old-school turn-based JRPG action to the Nintendo Switch, which means reviews for the game are about to begin dropping soon. The first of those is here, from Japanese magazine Famitsu, and based on these early impressions, things look god for the RPG.

Famitsu has awarded the game a total score of 36/40 (via Ryokutya), with each of its four reviewers awarding the game a 9/10. Praise is given to the game’s classic, old-school style, and its story, among other things. Though the game’s score is lower than what the outlet awarded to the original Bravely Default (which received a total of 38/40), it’s landed on the exact score that Bravely Second: End Layer received when it launched in Japan in 2015.

Bravely Default 2 launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on February 26. To celebrate its imminent launching, Nintendo is also bringing over Bravely Default 2 Spirits to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this weekend. Read more on that through here.
