Brian Karis Leaves Naughty Dog, Returns to Epic Games

The departures continue at the Uncharted developer.

After Uncharted writer Amy Hennig left Naughty Dog recently, it’s now the turn of Brian Karis to announce his departure. As part of the rendering group at the studio, Karis has announced his return to Epic Games as a senior graphics programmer on Twitter.

“I’ve returned to Epic. It’s felt like coming home. ND wasn’t a good fit for me. Yep, the tight turnaround time is really strange.”

Though rumours were circulating that The Last of Us’ Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley were responsible for Hennig’s departure, the two clarified that this wasn’t the case. Still, it is a bit odd that not one but two members of Naughty Dog have departed in such a short time.

It seems that both Druckmann and Straley will be in charge of the next Uncharted going forward. What are your thoughts on Karis’s departure? Let us know in the comments below what you think.
