Call Of Duty: Mobile May Create Separate Lobbies For Controller Support

The controller drama continues.

Call of Duty went portable in a big way at the beginning of this month as Call of Duty: Mobile came onto the scene. It’s been a huge success, seemingly, at least if the amount of downloads it saw is any indication. But it’s not been without some heartbreak, as post-launch patch killed controller support, much to many players’ disappointment. Well, it seems Activision is thinking about bringing it back under certain circumstances.

Speaking to Hypebeast, Activision VP of Mobile Chris Plummer said the move to axe controller support was done for the sake of balance for those that only have access to touch screens. He said that support could return down the road in the form of separate lobbies, similar to how there’s separate lobbies for first and third person gameplay in Battle Royale mode.

“One example of this is we have separate lobbies in Battle Royale for first-person perspective and third-person perspective players since you have the option to choose either in Battle Royale,” said Plummer. “We may implement a similar solution for players using controllers if needed.”

Call of Duty: Mobile is available now for all compatible iOS and Android mobile devices.
