While we still have to wait a bit for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to grace our screens, there has been a nice appetizer in the form of Call of Duty: Mobile. The game is packed with ton of COD-based content that’s sure to tickle fans a good deal. But it seems that someone really doesn’t want you to play this thing with a controller, as a new update has killed the feature.
While the game could be played with compatible controllers when it launched, a patch after the first day axed the feature completely. When users asked Activision if there was some type of bug with the patch, they confirmed that the patch was meant to kill support (you can see that exchange below).
So, as of now, the touch screen controls are the only official way to play the game. There’s various workarounds out there, of course, but it will require some work on your part. So for a COD experience with a controller, you’re probably going to have to wait until October 25th. If you can brave the touch controls, Call of Duty: Mobile is available now for all compatible iOS and Android mobile devices.
