Capcom halves profit forecast due to restructuring

A major game may be released this fiscal year by Capcom.

Capcom has announced that they won’t be meeting the profit projections for the last fiscal year and blamed it on restructuring process. The entire cost for restructuring was $70 million and this has halved their profit forecast.

Earlier they expected a profit of $65 million and have revised it to around $29 million.

“In view of the sudden and significant changes in the operating environment of the digital contents business, Capcom reviewed its business expansion strategy for the sector and restructured its game development organization,” the statement read.

Capcom expects more sales this fiscal year than compared to the last one and maybe they are planning to release a massive game to warrant those sales. We have no idea what it could be, though, but we will keep you updated once their full financial reports come in.
