Capcom Seems To Have Registered A Copyright For ‘Dragon’s Dogma Online’

Uh-oh.

Dragon’s Dogma was one of the best games Capcom has put out in years, alongside being a very well made, engrossing RPG. A sequel has been long awaited and rumored, but we have had nothing concrete on that front so far.

So far. Now, a new trademark filing by Capcom has been unearthed, and the good news is that it relates directly to Dragon’s Dogma. The bad news? It’s for Dragon’s Dogma Online, which, well… it could mean a full fledged MMORPG with all the proper production values (that would somehow still tank- just ask Star Wars: The Old Republic or The Elder Scrolls Online). On the other hand, and this is more likely given that this is Capcom, it could mean a free to play online browser game that would be a bastardization of everything the original game stood for.

I’m going to start mourning right about now. You may think I am jumping the gun here, but remember, this is the company that brought us a brand new Breath of Fire game, exclusively for mobile devices.
