Civilization 6 Announced for Nintendo Switch, Releasing on November 16th

The Switch port includes additional civilizations, four more playable scenarios, and multiplayer.

Out of nowhere, Firaxis has announced that Sid Meier’s Civilization 6 will be releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 16th. The turn-based 4X strategy title first released for PC in October 2016.

As a follow-up to the legendary turn-based strategy series, Civilization 6 on Switch will feature all updates released for it till date. It will also include the Vikings Scenario Pack, Poland Civilization and Scenario Pack, Australia Civilization and Scenario Pack, and the Persia and Macedon Civilization and Scenario Pack.

Overall, that’s a bunch of new civilizations, leaders, and so on to play around with. Cooperative and competitive multiplayer for up to 4 players will also be possible. All the other features that fans have come to like and/or loathe about Civilization 6 are also included, like Warmonger penalties and the Loyalty system.

Interestingly, there’s no mention of Rise and Fall, Civilization 6’s first full-length expansion that released in February 2018 and brought forth the Cree civilization. Perhaps it will be sold separately for Nintendo Switch in the future. It currently retails for $29.99 on Steam.
