Company of Heroes 3 Announced for PC, Includes New Dynamic Campaign Map

The strategy title is slated to release in late 2022 but interested players can access the pre-alpha preview through Relic's site now.

Relic Entertainment and Sega have confirmed that Company of Heroes 3 is in development. It will be coming to PC in late 2022 but a pre-alpha preview is currently available. Head here to check it out, though you’ll need to sign up for a RelicLink account to access it. Check out the reveal and gameplay trailers below.

Embracing a much larger scale than its predecessors, Company of Heroes 3 introduces new factions and units along with a Dynamic Campaign Map. Set in the Mediterranean theater, players can choose to advance through the campaign, partake in Skirmish modes or dive into multiplayer. Authentic destruction will once again be included thanks to Relic’s Essence Engine.

As for the Dynamic Campaign, it’s the franchise’s “biggest single player campaign” yet with a sandbox style structure. Not unlike grand strategy titles like Total War, players will manage supply lines, deploy forces to different towns, launch air strikes and much more on the world map. Upon entering into missions, the action is real-time but you can use Full Tactical Pause to stop and queue up different actions.

Company of Heroes 3 will feature the largest number of factions at launch as well, with squads like the American-Canadian Special Service Forces and Commonwealth Gurkhas included. Vehicles include the likes of the Nashorn, Chaffee Light Tank and Weasel which are all new to the franchise. If that weren’t enough, the title will feature new rendering and particle FX tech, new soldier animations and support for DirectX 12 and multi-core CPUs. Stay tuned for more gameplay and details in the meantime.
