Contra III: The Alien Wars, often considered to be the best game in Konami’s classic sidescrolling action shooting franchise, will be coming to the Virtual Console on Wii U in Europe, according to listing on Nintendo of Europe’s website.
The game, which was originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, will have all the features that a Wii U Virtual Console game usually gets, including save states, Off TV Play support, and Miiverse compatibility. It will also maintain its two player co-op play in this release, the listing confirms.
No release of the game for the US Virtual Console has been announced yet, which is especially ironic, because Europe is getting the US version of the game for this release instead of the original European one. But then again, the Virtual Console in the US is trailing behind the European one anyway- we haven’t even gotten The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past yet, which Europe got a few weeks ago.
