At the end of this week, we will get the first original Crash Bandicoot title in many years with the aptly named It’s About Time. The preview footage for the game has been hitting all the right spots, from what the gameplay has shown, even showing unexpected multiplayer modes that look to be good fit. If you’re ready, too, you can also pre-load the title, but it seems your experience may differ depending on the platform of choice.
The preload option is now live for both versions of the game, and you can download it now if you’ve pre-ordered digitally. However, it’s worth noting that the file size is quite different. On PS4, the game’s file size is about 45 GB, which is about what you’d expect for a game of this size. On the Xbox One, however, it’s just under 25 GB. While there’s sometimes difference in versions, it’s usually never to this degree. It’s a head scratcher, but most likely the game will have some day one updates that are simply live on PSN and not on Xbox yet and will most likely be near parity closer to launch. That would also mean there’s roughly 20 GB of updates for the game coming by day 1.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time launches October 2nd for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
