Cyberpunk 2077 Concept Art, “Making of Teaser” and Post Production Stills Revealed

Check out the lengthy, arduous process CD Projekt RED underwent to make the pre-rendered teaser.

Based on the Mike Pondsmith’s RPG system created back in the 90’s, Cyberpunk 2020, the upcoming RPG Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt RED just saw the release of a pre-rendered teaser trailer that showed a cybernetic woman surrounded by futuristic police on a street full of corpses.

The teaser was deftly crafted for sure, but the process that went into it is equally spell-binding. Platige Image worked with RED to create the teaser, and have uploaded a ton of stills and concept art for the UI, modeling and much more.

Check out some of the screens below, and don’t forget to hit up Platige’s gallery for the rest.

Platige stated that, “Usually, working on video game cutscenes involves creating a visual story in an already established world: the animation process is very orderly, divided into classic stages, and predictable. This time around, it was markedly different.

“The first drafts of the screenplay and preliminary concept art was created when the game was still in initial stages of core development. In the course of our collaboration with CD Projekt RED, we approached dozens of ideas before settling on a seemingly freeze-framed setting that referenced one of the illustrations from the original game manual.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is a long way off from release though, with an expected release date of 2015.
