Dauntless Open Beta Delayed to 2018

Phoenix Labs looking to implement feedback from players and polish experience.

Dauntless, the open world Monster Hunter-esque action RPG that recently went into closed beta, will now be going into open beta in 2018. Phoenix Labs made the announcement recently and revealed that feedback from fans has “presented us with an opportunity.”

There will be content and further polish the overall experience but either way, those who didn’t purchase the Founder’s Packs will have to wait a while before jumping in. If you provided feedback in the closed beta, then Phoenix Labs will be looking to implement it before the open beta starts.

Dauntless is pretty standard Monster Hunter fare as you embark on quests to take down large beasts either alone or with friends. Microtransactions are included but only for cosmetic items and boosters that are temporary. That means the rarest gear and equipment still necessitate playing the game in order to earn them.

Dauntless will eventually go free to pay in 2018 for the PC. Stay tuned for more information on improvements to the base experience in the coming months.
