Dead Cells is getting adapted into an animated series slated for release next year. Produced by Paris-based studio Bobbypills, the animated series willl feature 10 episodes.
Bobbypills has worked on Dead Cells before, having produced the animated trailers that the game typically gets for its major updates and expansions. It is also currently working with Captain Laserhawk—a spinoff of Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.
The animated series will stick closely to the minimalistic story of the game, revolving around the foolish king that turns his population into monsters, and a reluctant flame-headed hero showing up.
The Dead Cells animated series will originally be released exclusively in France, getting a worldwide release some time after its initial release.
Dead Cells has been incredibly popular, with developer Motion Twin having recently revealed that it crossed the 10 million sales milestone earlier this month. Most recently, Dead Cells saw the release of its Return to Castlevania DLC.
