Dead Space Remake Will Include Accessibility Options, Says Creative Director

In an interview with IGN, the Dead Space remake's creative director talks about his plans for including accessibility options in the game.

In an interview with IGN, creative director for the Dead Space remake Roman Campos-Oriola talked about how the team will leverage new hardware and a new development cycle to make Dead Space better than before. In addition to this, he also talked about his plans for including accessibility options in the game.

While he didn’t outright specify what accessibility options the team is looking into, he believes that it will open up the Dead Space experience to a broader audience. The original game can be a really stressful experience at times, so its likely that the team might include an assist mode or an invincibility mode as Double Fine aims to in its upcoming Psychonauts 2.

“Something that is also really important for us that was not there 12 years ago… is all those options or different ways to play the game if you need it. All those elements of accessibility will definitely be something important for us in terms of opening the Dead Space experience to a broader set of people that didn’t necessarily have the opportunity or could play the game when it came out,” Campos-Oriola said said.

Dead Space releases sometime in the future for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
