Destiny Maintenance Announced for September 8th

Lasts a whopping 8 hours.

Bungie’s Destiny will be receiving a new update for PS4 and Xbox One on September 8th. Servers will also be going offline on the same day. This one’s fairly important – maintenance lasts from 8 AM PST to 4 PM PST and functionality on the Destiny Companion App will also be limited. Clan features will also be taken offline in order to prepare for the new Clan Roster coming with Rise of Iron.

It should also be noted that update 2.4.0 will change Sterling Treasures. As of now, players can earn three Sterling Treasures per week, one via the Postmaster, through the Daily Crucible playlist and via Prison of Elder level 41. After the update, you can only pick up one Sterling Treasure from Prison of Elders. Rise of Iron’s Radiant Treasures will also replace the Sterling Treasures sold by Eververse.

The main difference is that Radiant Treasures contain ornaments and Silver Dust, the latter which can be used to buy more ornaments from vendors like Xur. Whether players will still have a way to obtain the Spektar and Desolate armour sets from the April Update remains to be confirmed.

Destiny’s Rise of Iron expansion is out on September 20th for Xbox One and PS4.
