The leaks just keep coming for Destiny’s Rise of Iron expansion. After someone pressed the button too early and linked to the expansion’s trailer (which hasn’t been revealed yet) on the official website, thus outing the game’s September 20th release date, Sovereign VII on Twitter provided images from an Xbox Store listing (which is still up as of this time of writing).
The new expansion will take players to Old Russia’s southern border where the wall has collapsed and have them battling a “new enemy faction”, likely the Fallen “mutants” named in the description. You’ll be teaming with Lord Saladin in your quest and learn the fate of the Iron Lords in the process.
It will also have a new campaign, new quests, new weapons, a new Strike, a new Crucible mode and maps, new gear and weapons and of course, a new raid. If that weren’t enough, you’ll have a new zone – the Plaguelands – to explore along with a new social space. It will also require ownership of all previously owned expansions.
Destiny: Rise of Iron is also apparently heading to the PS4 and Xbox One. Thoughts on that? Let us know below.
