Destiny Rise of Iron: Private Matches Count Towards Grimoire, Pre-Expansion Content Teased

Expansion goes live at 2 AM PST on September 20th.

Bungie has revealed a ton of information about its upcoming Destiny expansion Rise of Iron, courtesy of Game Informer’s podcast. Game director Chris Barrett and executive producer Scott Taylor fielded questions from the community to clarify what players could expect in September.

Perhaps the biggest takeaway is that, like House of Wolves, there will be some kind of pre-Rise of Iron content to keep players occupied one week before launch. Taken Champions will still spawn during Patrols so don’t worry. Rise of Iron will go live at 2 AM PST at reset on September 20th but will be available for pre-orders beforehand.

And for those wondering about the Private Matches, they will indeed count towards your Grimoire score and Daily Crucible bounties. They won’t work for quests or weekly bounties however so don’t count on boosting your way to an Exotic sword of First Curse.

Destiny’s Rise of Iron will only be available for Xbox One and PS4 when it becomes available. Are you looking forward to it? Let us know below.
