Destiny Rise of Iron Record Book Revealed, New Artifacts Bestow Different Benefits

Check out how Artifacts are changing in the next expansion.

Remember the SRL Record Book for Destiny? The upcoming expansion Rise of Iron will also have its Record Book according to the developer in conversation Game Informer.

It even works a lot like the Year Two Moments of Triumph. In Rise of Iron, you’ll face a range of different tasks. Completing these will help your overall percentage completion and upon reaching certain completion points, you’ll unlock different armour, emblems, etc.

Bungie has also revealed its revamped Artifacts system. You can still carry over your older Artifacts but the eight new ones, based on the Iron Lords and accessible by all classes and subclasses, will confer specific benefits. One allows you melee enemies and gain their support temporarily; another trades your Super for double grenades and melee with a base increase to all stats. There’s even one that eliminates the dreading sprinting delay.

Players must collect tasks to gain the Iron Lords’ Legacy which can be traded to new vendor Tyra Karn for one of three Artifacts (which change every week). Sounds nifty, right?

Destiny: Rise of Iron is out on September 20th for Xbox One and PS4. It won’t be heading to PS3 and Xbox 360 and you’ve got till August 20th to transfer progress to current gen consoles if you want to continue your Destiny journey.
