Much unlike its usual updates, Bungie actually had quite a lot of information regarding the future of Destiny in its latest weekly update.
Since the latest hotfix, the meta has shifted more to No Land Beyond (the one sniper rifle that doesn’t suffer from Special Ammo loss on death due to being a Primary) and sidearms (which always have Special Ammo to start with). To correct this, senior designer Josh Hamrick shared some changes that were currently being tested.
For No Land Beyond, Hamrick stated that, “We’ve found a potential workaround for making NLB flinch like the Sniper Rifle it is. This one will require a good amount of testing, but we think it’s a good change.”
Memory of Skorri is currently being tested to require a kill to start the Skorri’s Harmony effect (which is active for some 60 seconds). This won’t be hard to maintain in PvE and discourages standing around in, say, round-based modes like Trials of Osiris.
Finally, sidearms will still spawn with a small amount of Special Ammo but they won’t keep stacking with each death. In other words, you’ll need to rush to Special Ammo boxes to keep using them after a point.
You can check out the other potential changes in the weekly update. How do they sound to you? Let us know in the comments.
