Detroit: Become Human will be one of the biggest game releases this month. As its title suggests, the game explores the question regarding what makes one human in the first place. In a new interview, the game’s director David Cage discusses how the game deals with this question by letting players explore the story from the point of view of androids.
We have seen different media which have explored the notion of humanity through the perspective of androids. Cage discusses how the androids have been oppressed and how they struggle to free themselves from this suffering. Regarding the different characters in the games, Cage asserts that no character is evil and that they all occupy a morally gray area. He stated, “There is no evil character. There are just characters with different agendas.” In the game, players are often going to be faced with uncomfortable choices where there is no clear right answer.
