Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition On Switch Will Get “Something Extra,” Per Producer

The weird re-release gets something extra apparently.

The Devil May Cry series returned at the beginning of 2019 with a roar. Devil May Cry 5 launched to strong critical and financial success, and has helped elevate the brand to Capcom’s upper echelons. The series is also finding its way to a Nintendo system for the first time as the original trilogy is being re-released in an odd way, with the first two games having launched on the Switch individually, and Devil May Cry 3 on the way soon. And it seems Capcom want the third game to have a little something special.

While the first two games’ Switch releases were ripped directly from the Devil May Cry HD Collection, it seems the third one is potentially getting something extra, according to a message posted on Producer Matt Walker’s official Twitter. What that something extra is remains to be seen.

Considering how barebones the last two re-releases of the first and second game, it’s somewhat surprising. Walker also teases three dates to check back on for more information (January 13th, 30th, and February 13th).

Devil May Cry 3 will release on Nintendo Switch on February 20th.
