Blizzard’s Diablo 3 to be extremely popular says an analyst. Oh well, that was a shocking revelation indeed, but according an estimate from Stern Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia; he expects the game to sell 3.5 million copies this year.
The reasons he gave for such an optimistic figure is that the game is releasing after 12 years, and people’s expectations are very high after a successful beta. The game is a bit on the costly side, but that isn’t stopping many from pre-ordering it.
He also mentioned that it will sell more than 4 million life time, and 90% of that figure this year itself. Diablo 2 in comparison did 4 million in just 14 months, so things are looking much better for Diablo 3.
Personally for me, I believe the game will sell more than 4 million units this year, but let’s see what happens.
