The long wait for the next instalment in the legendary Dragon Quest franchise is almost at an end- at long last, Dragon Quest 11 will be launching this Summer for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 4 in Japan, on July 29. Both versions of the game will be entirely different, with the former a fully 3D game made in Unreal Engine 4, and the latter leveraging the dual screens of the 3DS to deliver a modern 3D game on one screen, and an old school 2D sprite based adventure on the other.
This means that for fans, getting both versions is going to be optimal- while they both tell the same story, they are both effectively entirely different games. Square Enix will be making it easier for you to invest in both, by selling a Double Pack of the game that includes the 3DS and PS4 versions of the game, both.
Of course, all these release details only apply to Japan for now- a western release for the game has not yet been confirmed. Hopefully we get an announcement of a western release some time soon. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more information.
