Dragon’s Dogma Quest Announced for PlayStation Vita

Free to play 2D RPG coming to Vita this Fall.

A portable version of the critically and commercially lauded Dragon’s Dogma will be arriving on the PlayStation Vita this Fall, according to Famitsu, and it will be a free to play, online 2D RPG.

Dragon Dogma Quest will employ more strategy than hard-hitting action like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. It will involve watching fights and issuing commands, and also feature more than 150 jobs. You’ll still be able to take up side-quests and explore various dungeons, towns and other areas.

In combat, you can use up to four pawns and even have them join up with another player’s group, thus enabling parties with a maximum of eight characters.

There is also talk of some kind of billing model for players who aren’t able to find time to play. We’re not sure what this is about, but it could be akin to a system where you character trains alone when you’re offline, gaining experience and skills. Then when, you come back, you’re billed appropriately depending on the amount of experience gained.

Stay tuned for more details.
