Dreamfall and it’s predecessor, The Longest Journey, aren’t just two of the most revered adventure games of all time. They were the games that put Funcom on the map, allowing it to self-publish and ultimately go into bigger and better things.
Now, Ragnar Tørnquist has started Red Thread Games, indepedendent of Funcom, to Kickstart a fund for the sequel, called Dreamfall Chapters.
In an interview with Rock Paper Shogun, he stated, “We will be doing a Kickstarter. Not right now, but we will be doing it in the near future… In order to fully develop Dreamfall Chapters we’re going to need more money and we will be going to Kickstarter.
“I’ll still be contributing a lot to the story side [of The Secret World], advising Joel [Bylos] and the team. I’m working on the master story document at the moment, making sure all the threads are coming together and we know where we’re at. I want to make sure the team are as independent as possible but I have no plans to leave.”
