EA is Working on “A Number of” Unannounced Star Wars Games

"We will continue working with them and our relationship has never been stronger," says Douglas Reilly, VP of Lucasfilm Games.

It was recently announced that Lucasfilm Games would be working in collaboration with Ubisoft Massive, developers of The Division, to develop new open world story-driven Star Wars game. It’s an exciting collaboration, but also a surprising one, especially given the fact that EA had signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Disney for the Star Wars license back in 2012.

That said, Disney (or Lucasfilm Games) and EA’s partnership is going to continue onward. Speaking in recent interview talking about Lucasfilm Games’ recent announcements (including MachineGames’ upcoming Indiana Jones project), Douglas Reilly – VP of Lucasfilm Games – said that though there are no details to share right now, EA is currently working on a number of unannounced Star Wars games.

“We’re really proud of the games we have created with EA,” Reilly said. “We will continue working with them and our relationship has never been stronger. While we may not have a lot of details to share at the moment, we’ve got a number of projects underway with the talented teams at EA.”

EA has also made it clear in recent months that it intends to double down on its Star Wars license, and even though no official announcements have been made for it so far, it seems like given that a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently in the works at Respawn Entertainment. It remains to be seen what other Star Wars project EA is currently working on.
