EA sues EA

Florida based fitness supply firm Energy Armor (EA) has been sued by the gaming publishing giant Electronic Arts (EA). EA says Energy Armor is using the former’s successful brand name for business.

Gamasutra also reported that EA also sued Energy Armor because the latter was advertising its health and fitness products by associating them with sports and professional athletes, saying that that “which is similar to how Electronic Arts advertises and markets its EA Sports products.”

“Energy Armor’s use of the Energy Armor EA Mark is likely to cause confusion, or to cause mistake, or to deceive consumers as to an affiliation, connection, or association between Energy Armor and Electronic Arts,” reads EA’s complaint.

“Indeed, consumers are likely to believe that Electronic Arts is the source of Energy Armor’s EA-branded products or has authorized or licensed Energy Armor to manufacture and sell EA-branded products.”

EA wants Energy Armor’s logo to be banned, and is also looking for compensations for attorney’s fees and damages.
