EA: We Want To Regain PC Gamers’ Trust

'We're excited about the progress we've made.'

EA is trying to regain the trust of PC gamers, Origin’s senior marketing director Peter O’Reilly. Speaking to MVCUK, O’Reilly said that EA has been trying its very best to rebuild the bridges it burned with PC gamers over the last few years. Initiatives such as refunds (which Origin offered long before Steam ever did) and Origin’s On The House promotions, where they give away a high profile game for absolutely free, have been started towards that end.

“We are on a journey to regain the trust of the PC gamer,” O’Reilly said. “Over the last couple of years we have focused on ensuring a great play experience from launch and bringing players a better experience on Origin with programs like the Great Game Guarantee, On the House, and now Origin Access.

“We’re excited about the progress we’ve made, but are always pushing ourselves to innovate on behalf of players.”

He also confirmed that EA will work to bring more non EA games to Origin. Origin Access will also eventually include non EA published games.

Personally, I hope EA continues to work on Origin, if only to ensure that Valve does not grow lazy and complacent with Steam- as it often has a tendency to.
