Embracer Group is Working on a Marvel Deal That “Extends Well Beyond Avengers” – Rumour

A prominent Avengers leaker suggests that Embracer Group, which has acquired Marvel's Avengers alongside its developer, is working on extending that deal with Marvel.

The Embracer Group has now officially completed the acquisition of Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, and Square Enix Montreal, in a $300 million deal that also nets the company the ownership of franchises like Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, Thief, and Legacy of Kain.

Alongside that, the Embracer Group has also nabbed a bunch of back-catalog titles developed by those studios, which, in recent years, has also included a couple of major AAA licensed Marvel releases, with Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers and Eidos Montreal’s Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Interestingly enough, it seems Embracer Groups has plans to keep working with Marvel on future projects. Recently, prominent Avengers leaker Miller took to Twitter and stated that Embracer seems to be “in the middle of working out a deal with Marvel that extends well beyond Avengers). The leaker also states that “work continues on Avengers relatively unabated” following the acquisition.

Of course, it’s clear that Marvel is looking at partnerships with a number of studios from across the industry, and that in addition to the many that have already been officially announced, there are still allegedly several major ones that have yet to be unveiled.

Where Marvel’s Avengers is concerned, the game’s next hero is confirmed to be the Winter Soldier, a.k.a. Bucky Barnes, while leaks have also claimed She-Hulk will be eventually added as well. The developer say they have “lots of heroes” planned for the game.
