Epic Games Details Updates Coming To Epic Games Store, Including Player Cards, Improved Search, And More

Several new features are coming this month and later down the road.

When the Epic Games Store launched way back in December of 2018, it was an instant firestorm of controversy. Most of that centered around the storefront’s use of third party exclusive deals, something that was largely unheard of in the PC market, at least to the scale that Epic was doing. But it wasn’t the only reason. Those who had grown accustomed to more robust storefronts like Steam or even GOG found the store incredibly barebones. As of writing this, for instance, the store still doesn’t even have a shopping cart. There hasn’t been much added on that front since its launch, but more is coming.

This month will see the addition of Player Cards, the ability to have minimized view and a Do Not Disturb mode that will mute any notifications. That will also come with improved search functionality. Other updates that are detailed is a more robust Party system, including party window, drop in/drop out parties and continuing the party while in-game. You can see full details from Epic through here. Still no shopping cart, though.

No specific time frame is detailed on when to expect these updates, so stay tuned.
