Yesterday saw the launch of the PlayStation 4 in Europe, and unfortunately, initial reports are not those of gaming ecstasy, but rather are complaints about issues that have popped up regarding a large number of gamers being unable to sign into their accounts on the PlayStation network.
Sony have issued a statement on the issue: “We are aware some users are currently experiencing issues logging into PSN on PS4 due to the heavy traffic we are receiving, we’re investigating and will update. Thanks for your patience.”
These issues are similar to those experienced by gamers in North America and Canada following the November 15th launch of the console in those regions. Theses issues were, and for European gamers will be, addressed in a downloadable patch that can be accessed outside of the PlayStation Network via USB stick. This patch will also update a number of other features for the PlayStation 4 that do not have to do with the difficulties gamers have been having logging in.
