Fable Legends won’t just be a static world like all the previous releases in the franchise- true to Peter Molyneux’s original vision, the game will see itself grow and evolve over time, thanks to the inclusion of DLC and an episodic approach to the game.
This was reported by IGN, who learned this in an interview with game director David Eckelberry.
“We don’t want Fable Legends to stop when you finish the game. You should think about seasons and episodes. Fable Legends might just be Season One and we can add new quests and stories in the future, in the form of DLC for example.”
He also clarified that the aim was to have Fable Legends last, grow, and evolve, through the years, and assured IGN that the game wouldn’t lose out on its traditionally strong single player story focus thanks to this entry’s emphasis on multiplayer.
“The storyline is absolutely there and very important,” he said. “Of course there’s a higher purpose with a broad storyline that combines the various quests. But we tell new stories all the time. That’s the beauty of episodic content.”
Fable Legends will launch some time in 2014 for Xbox One.
