Far Cry Primal ‘Survival Mode’ Will Have Permadeath, PC Version Getting 4K Textures

The Survival Mode will have permadeath.

Far Cry Primal just received a rather massive update in order to tweak somethings that weren’t working correctly. The game is going to get another patch that will do far more than just tweak few bugs and glitches. In fact, the new update is going to be bringing a brand new game mode to Primal in the form of Survival Mode. This new content isn’t for the faint of heart as it will include permadeath, according to a blog post by Ubisoft.

This means should you be playing in the survival mode and die it’s officially game over and if you want to play more, you’re going to have to start over. The only place this isn’t the case is when you are playing through a vision quest mission, because those aren’t quite real. The company has said there is going to be a second chance option. This allows players to get a second life as long as they pass certain checkpoints in the story.

Permadeath isn’t the only new feature to come with survival mode. There will also be a stamina gauge that will tick down as players go through the world. As it does go down, players will get “slower and weaker” and will eventually have to sleep in order to get their stamina back. Other features that make the mode hard includes “fog of war” being stronger and the minimap no longer being functional. Far Cry Primal‘s Survivor Mode lands for the Xbox One, PC and PS4 on April 12. The PC version will also be bringing 4K textures to the game.
