When Farming Simulator released, it was, against all odds, a massive success. It helped that unlike future ‘Simulator’ games, Farming Simulator wasn’t a joke or a gag, but a fairly legitimate and authentic simulation of actual, real life farming. It was released on PC and Mac, and Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and it actually went on to sell 2 million copies.
So of course there was going to be a follow-up. And sure enough, we have Farming Simulator 2015, a game that adds new graphics and a new physics engine, new visual effects, a new interface, new gameplay mechanics and, of course, a new and vast game environment. It also adds a new extensive multiplayer mode that supports 16 players locally and online.
Farming Simulator 2015 will be available on PC in October this year, with a console release coming in early 2015. The console release itself will be cross gen, meaning we can expect to see authentic farming simulation coming to Xbox One and PS4 as well.
