Fez Sells 105,000 Copies in 48 Hours in Steam Summer Sale

Phil Fish says this is more sales than "in the first three months since release on Steam".

Valve’s Steam Summer Sale is the one time of the year PC gamers look forward to, and immensely responsible for the platform’s biggest advantage: Amazing deals, on both present and past titles. However, it’s also a great means by which certain games can be featured. Indie title Fez is no different, and in fact, developer Phil Fish recently revealed that there had been a rise in sales for his game following the Summer Sale.

It actually sold 105,000 copies in 48 hours.

To understand the significance, Fish explained via Twitter that, “We sold more copies in the first 24 hours of the sale than we had on Steam in the first three months since release.” Those 48 hours also yielded greater sales than the game’s first month on Xbox Live Arcade (before the whole fiasco with Microsoft that required re-certification).

As the Summer Sale, we’ll see how many other titles benefit from the increased exposure.
