Final Fantasy 15 Dev “Definitely” Interested in More Crossovers

Director Hajime Tabata also discusses fan reception to Assassin's Festival.

Whether you’re a fan of Assassin’s Creed or Final Fantasy, there’s no doubt that the recent Assassin’s Creed crossover event in Final Fantasy 15 was unique. The Assassin’s Festival went live by August 29th and offered new quests, new mechanics like climbing and stealth kills, and much more.

DualShockers spoke to director Hajime Tabata about whether there would be much more such crossovers in the future and he noted that it’s something the development team would “definitely” be interested in. Tabata noted that the Final Fantasy 15 worked with the Assassin’s Creed team closely and that there was a mutual respect between them.

He also hoped that fans of both franchises would enjoy it, and recounted how showcasing the trailer at Ubisoft’s Gamescom booth evoked surprise from Assassin’s Creed fans. Eventually, they liked it and he felt there was a partial overlap between both fanbases. In terms of other collaborations though, nothing else is currently planned.

Final Fantasy 15 will have more content later this year with Episode Ignis and the Comrades DLC, the latter adding multiplayer.
