FInal Fantasy VII Remake is a game that has some very high expectations to meet. While we still don’t know much about the game, it’s evident that team working on it is putting a lot of thought and effort into it. In an interview with CGWorld, a Japanese website about computer graphics, Art Director and VFX Director Shintaro Takai discussed his approach to art and visual effects in the game.

Having also worked on the original game, Takai-san stated that things are different this time around because he’s putting a lot more effort into how the visual effects works. He also went on to state how he wants young developers to play an active role as far as the development of art and visual effects for the game is concerned.

There are also designers aboard the visual effects team who haven’t played the original game and Takai-san stated that knowledge of the original game isn’t absolutely necessary. Currently, the VFX team includes five developers and hopefully, they’re able to create the best work possible using their combined talents.

Final Fantasy VII Remake has been officially announced for the PS4, but no release date has been confirmed yet.
