Final Fantasy 7 Remake Update – Voice Actor Recording For An “Old Favourite”

A rare new update on the long-awaited upcoming remake.

It’s been years since Final Fantasy 7 Remake was announced, but it’s probably going to be years still before it’s finally released. We haven’t had a lot of updates from Square Enix about how it’s development is going, though thankfully, we do have an update now- a small one, yes, but an update nonetheless.

As spotted by users over on Reddit, it seems voice actor by the name Joe Weber is playing a character in the upcoming remake, as his Twitter bio states. When asked on Twitter, Weber confirmed that it’s true, also providing a hint as to what character he’ll be playing, saying that it’s “an old favourite”. Weber’s IMDB page also lists a few other voice over roles in some video games, as well as a few TV shows and films.

Not too long ago, the development team’s focus shifted fully to Final Fantasy 7 Remake after Kingdom Hearts 3 was finished, with co-director Tetsuya Nomura also reaffirming that development on the RPG was going well. Meanwhile, quite recently, Naoki Hamaguchi saw change in his role as well, being promoted to co-director alongside Nomura. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
