Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a game we’ve been looking forward to for more than a decade, even though it was first officially announced only five years ago. Either way, it’s been a long road, and its recent launch is, to say the least, a global event. To no one’s surprise, the anticipation of the game is being reflected in its sales.
While the full charts for boxed video game sales in the UK for last week haven’t yet been published, Christopher Dring of GamesIndustry recently took to Twitter and revealed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake topped sales charts in the UK on debut. Owing to the fact that most stores in the UK are currently closed due to the ongoing pandemic, physical sales for the game are down though- roughly half as much as the physical launch week sales of Final Fantasy 15, which came out in 2016.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is out now on the PS4- you can read our review through here (spoilers: we loved it). Meanwhile, recent video has suggested that a PC version is also in the pipeline.
