Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Release Date Unchanged; Square Enix Still Unsure Of Retail Shortages

Another update about the situation will come from the publisher soon.

There’s many big titles coming out this year, but one of the biggest is easily the first part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The game suffered a minor delay earlier in the year, but will be here after many years of wait next month. Unfortunately, it is a time of great strife as the current coronavirus pandemic has caused many issues. Lots of retailers are being forced to close down, as well as major production lines being disrupted. This has lead to wondering if games and consoles, such as FF7R, coming in the near future could be delayed. Well, it seems the game will still release on time, though the situation with physical retail is still unsure.

Square Enix did a follow up post via their official Twitter to an earlier post responding to fears of physical copy shortages. Unfortunately, it seems there’s not a lot of concrete news. They reaffirm that the game will make its scheduled launch date, but it seems there’s nothing but uncertainty at brick and mortar stores. Apparently, another update is going to come down the road, but it seems that some physical copies getting delayed are an inevitability at this point.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake will still release only on PlayStation 4 on April 10th.
