Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Second Part Already Being Worked On, Per Director

Some work has already been laid for episode two.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is one of the most anticipated games coming next year, no doubt. The game will remake one of the most beloved titles of all time and has constantly topped most anticipated polls. One aspect of the game that Square Enix has tried to de-emphasize is that the game is actually episodic with the title releasing in March being the first episode in an undetermined amount of parts. While we don’t know when the second part will release, we know it’s being worked on.

Via Square Enix’s official breakdown of the development team, under the description for Director and Concept Designer Tetsuya Nomura, it’s stated that work on the next game has already begun.

It’s still not clear when the first game will end and how much of the narrative it will cover. Thus far we’ve only seen Midgar sections, leaving many to believe they will expand the entire first episode to the events there. But only time will tell when the game’s first episode releases on PlayStation 4 March 3rd 2020.
