Some one at Square-Enix must have gotten off their rear end and realized that no one is a big fan of the company right now. Given their delays of major titles like Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy X HD, their almost stalker-like obsession with Lightning of Final Fantasy XIII, and the rapid decline of the Final Fantasy franchise as a whole, it’s not hard to see why.
But things are changing. First, we received an updated version of The World Ends With You for tablets, followed by The World Ends With You: Live Remix for GREE (and soon, iOS and Android). Now talks of localizing PSP’s Final Fantasy Type-0 have resurfaced.
In conversation with Gamespot, scenario director Hajime Tabata stated, “Due to market reasons, we are taking a clean slate in terms of our plans. We feel strongly about bringing this title to the fans in North America and Europe, so if an opportunity arises that can become a conclusive factor, we are prepared to go into consideration right away.”
Translation: If there’s enough demand, it’ll be out sooner than you think. Hopefully, Square-Enix reads the mood and creates the demand for one of the better Final Fantasy games to have been released in the past few years.
