Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Development Includes CyberConnect2, Square Enix Visual Works

Major undertaking.

Looks like Square Enix’s upcoming, long anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake will be a massive undertaking for the company. It seems that the game’s development team will include input from Square Enix Visual Works (who normally take care of the cinematics in Square’s games), while secondary characters are being handled by the Italian Character Designer Roberto Ferrari (who recently worked on Final Fantasy Type-0 and XV).

In addition, CyberConnect2, of .hack and Naruto fame, will also be helping with the game, specifically with the balancing of the battle system, since they have experience handling real time battle systems. Personally, I am surprised that the development team does not include any of Square’s substantial western development teams, thanks to their Eidos network.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is due out in 2017 on the PlayStation 4, though it will eventually come to other systems too. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage and information.
