Firewatch For PC and PS4 Gets Official Release Date

The wait has been long but it's almost over.

Since Firewatch was first announced for PS4 at E3 there has been an awful lot of interest in getting people’s hands and that fire has only been stoked by the long silence surrounding when this game was actually going to get released. Now, after the company recently said they would be bringing a release date soon, have made good on their word.

Now we know we can expect this game to come to the PS4, the PC and the Mac on February 9, 2016. That might actually be a little later than people thought, with quite a few hoping the title would be able to be released in 2015. For those not aware of what Firewatch is, the game is a first-person adventure game that puts players in the shoes of a park ranger who sees and encounters some rather strange events out in the Wyoming wilderness. He decides to investigate these events by himself.

Throughout the game, his only form of human contact is through his walkie-talkie which he uses to contact Delilah, his supervisor who is quite far away back at the rangers’ headquarters. This atmosphere looks plenty creepy as players are supposed to solve the mystery of just what is going on and then who did it. Fans of Mad Men will likely recognize the voice of the main character as he is given life by Rich Sommer, who’s best known for his role as Harry Crane. Firewatch will be hitting the PC, Mac, Linux and the PS4 on February 9, 2016.
